Doing your homework in five minutes
E-sports punishes betting on reputation alone, because rosters change between seasons and patches change which heroes and strategies are strong. Before a pre-match bet, check three things:
- The current roster. Is a stand-in playing? One substitute can change a team's level completely.
- Recent form on the current patch. Results from two patches ago may mean little.
- Format and stakes. Teams that have already qualified sometimes rest players or test strategies in late group games.
For in-play bets, the draft (MOBA games) or map veto (CS2, Valorant) is the single most useful piece of information. Wait for it before betting on a map.
Reading the odds
E-sports books use the same odds formats as the main sportsbook. In decimal odds, 1.85 returns MYR 185 on a MYR 100 stake. In Malay odds, positive numbers show the profit per ringgit staked and negative numbers show how much you risk to win one ringgit. Close series are usually priced around 1.80–1.95 for each side. Anything under 1.20 means the book sees one team as a very strong favourite, but upsets in best-of-one matches happen regularly.

Rebate is credited daily with a 1x turnover. Bets on opposite outcomes of the same match, and void bets, do not count as valid turnover for rebates or VIP progress.
What changes from one game to another
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Matches are short, usually 12 to 20 minutes, and the regional MPL leagues play several series a week. Comebacks are common because the Lord objective can swing a game late. That makes in-play underdog prices on MLBB more interesting than in most other titles. Kill-total lines tend to be high because team fights happen early and often.
Dota 2
Games run 30 to 50 minutes and drafts are complex. Strong teams can draft a "late-game" line-up that looks weak for the first 20 minutes, so be careful reading early-game momentum in live betting. First blood and first Roshan markets are popular side bets.
Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant
These tactical shooters are played on maps, and each team has favourite and banned maps. Once the map veto is known, map-winner and round-handicap markets become much easier to read. Overtime is common in close matches, which matters for total-rounds bets.
League of Legends
Dragon and Baron objectives decide many games. Markets such as "first dragon" and "total towers" let you bet on the flow of a game rather than only on its result.

Keeping e-sports betting in proportion
Matches run almost around the clock, and live markets refresh every few seconds, which makes it easy to place far more bets than planned. Set a daily stake limit before a tournament starts.
